HIV is a virus that persists in being spread across the globe. As it does, the connection between human rights and HIV AIDS becomes increasingly apparent and diverse. The history of this connection dates back to the 1980s when people with HIV or AIDS were subject to discrimination in terms of international travel restrictions, employment and housing barriers, medical care and insurance, or access to educational opportunities. This time period is essential when considering the connection between human rights and HIV AIDS because, by the end of the decade, a movement to enforce compassion and camaraderie with HIV-infected people began.

This concept has a lengthy history, but plenty of movements have taken place in just the last 60 years. The cornerstone of modern concept is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a document that instructs governments about what they are responsible to perform in order to uphold the rights of people everywhere. It was drafted in 1948 by the UN General Assembly. Other documents exist as well which state legally-binding obligations that governments must meet if they sign onto them. In the context of human rights and HIV AIDS, access to the highest standard of physical and mental health for citizens is outlined in almost all human rights documents.

Governments around the world are responsible for respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the rights of their citizens. This means that countries and states cannot violate rights directly, must prevent the violation of rights from a third party, and must take appropriate measures to ensure that all rights are fulfilled. Based on the fact that governments are obligated to protect public health, they can be understood to be responsible for creating and implementing programs to reduce the spread of HIV and AIDS within the borders of the country or state. Human rights and HIV AIDS can be best addressed by governments if they consider three situations that affect a great number of the population-infected, affected, and vulnerable.

AIDS is a short term for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. It is not a precise disease but is syndrome of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. AIDS is the most fatal and harmful enemy of man today and was first discovered in some homosexual individuals in 1981. It is a step wise destruction of the immune system by a dangerous human immunodeficiency virus HIV. The following are some important key factors which should be checked to lead a healthy and aids free life.

1. Since it includes heterosexual males and females with multiple sex partners, hemophiliacs, and habitual intravenous drug users , therefore , only safe sex is the first and foremost step to be taken in this regard.

2. It also indicates that AIDS has covered more from its original target , that is homosexual to heterosexual individuals and even drug users. The possible remedy is proper awareness of AIDS as it will help avoiding drug usage, casual sexual encounters and unhealthy activities that may invite a positive HIV result.

3. The infants and kids are most prone to aids and it has been noted that many infected mothers transferred it to their off springs. Another interesting observation is recovery of HIV from saliva of patients , yet , no infection occurred with exposure of this saliva to skin. AIDS does not spread by touching or holding hands with the infected patients. But , unsafe sex and unsafe syringe are most common ways of HIV infection in people.

4. During the stages of AIDS, a myriad of nonspecific symptoms, designated AIDS-related complex, or ARC, may produce. ARC includes unexplained fevers, night sweats, chronic diarrhea, and wasting. Therefore , AIDS is considered to be home of many diseases which just become a part of it. The easiest way to avoid such situation is studying literature about AIDS as provided by the Internet , state department of health and other accessible resources .

AIDS is life threatening disease and without adequate knowledge and awareness , it will always be taking lives of innocent people. Therefore, one must make sure all possible remedies and solutions to cope AIDS and lead a healthy and happy life.

One of the most dangerous and fatal sexually transmitted diseases is HIV or human immunodeficiency virus. This is said to have the most number of fatalities among all STDs. This means that this disease is highly life threatening. The difficult part of being infected with HIV is that it does not show symptoms during its early stages. The only possible time one may determine or notice infection is when it is already severe. A person carrying the disease may not even know that they are already infected with it until symptoms or complications have already showed up.

Some of the common symptoms of HIV are rapid weight loss, dry cough, recurring fever or profuse night sweats, profound and unexplained fatigue, swollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck, diarrhea that lasts for more than a week, white spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue, in the mouth, or in the throat, pneumonia, red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids, memory loss, depression, and other neurological disorders.

If one has these symptoms or doubts about his or her health condition, he or she should immediately consult a doctor for an HIV test. This is the surest way to detect infection of HIV. Once HIV is detected early, medications may be given to control the increase its extent may be given. These medications are antiviral drugs. They are known to preempt the effects of the disease to the patient. This means that if a patient takes these medications, he or she may not be immediately affected by the complications that the disease may give.

Some local STD testing is done in local health centers and may need urine or blood samples from patients. Results may come out after a few weeks. Other clinics offer quick or rapid STD testing which provides results within twenty minutes or so. For people who do not want be revealing their personal information while taking the test may go the private HIV or STD testing clinics for more confidentiality. As well known, HIV can lead to AIDS. Both of these diseases are fatal and they are never an easy thing to deal with. This is why it is important for one to be tested immediately to make sure that the situation of getting AIDS becomes farther.
